List of Fetishes The following is not meant to be an all inclusive list of fetish definitions, but more a living document to change as we discover new definitions and new fetishes. We will update this list as new information becomes available.
It is not the scope of this document to psychologically analyze these fetishes or practices or discuss their place in society. We are simply going to define the terms here. If you have, or are aware of a fetish that is not included in this list please let us know by emailing carnal_syns@thefetishgarden.com for inclusion. Let's start with the obvious. The definition of Fetish. Fetish (see footnote) n. 1. An object that is believed to have magical or spiritual powers, especially such an object associated with animistic or shamanistic religious practices.
2. An object of unreasonably excessive attention or reverence: made a fetish of punctuality.
3. Something, such as a material object or a nonsexual part of the body that arouses sexual desire and may become necessary for sexual gratification.
4. An abnormally obsessive preoccupation or attachment; a fixation.
Not exactly what was expected? The most commonly held definition would be the third definition. We will be narrowing our focus to sexual fetishes.
Agalmatophilia - Is a sexual attraction to a mannequin, doll or statue. This could include the desire or fantasy of engaging in sexual activity with the object.
Algophilia - A physical disorder in which it is thought the brain misinterprets physical pain signals from the nerves as pleasure. This can be pain anywhere in the body but is most associated with erogenous zones. The reactions are involuntary and uncontrollable. This is not to be confused with BDSM or Masochism which is a psychological reaction.
Allopellia - a condition in which sexual arousal is attained by observing others engaged in sexual activity.
Amaurophilia - A preference blindfolded sexual partner or having sex in total darkness.
Belonephilia - Sexual stimulation from the use of needles, pins or other sharp objects.
Coprolalia - Sexual arousal is attained by the use of obscene language. Do you like dirty talk?
Diaper Fetishism - This one is self explanatory. Being sexually interested or aroused by the smell and/or feel of diapers, wearing diapers or seeing someone wearing a diaper.
Dacrylagnia - Physical stimulation or arousal from the sight of tears in your partners eyes or from seeing your partner cry.
Emetophilia - A sexual fetish in which a person is aroused by vomit. This can take many forms, to include but not limited to the act of vomiting, vomiting on someone, being vomited on, inducing another to vomit, or having someone make you vomit. In "kink" circles, vomiting on someone is called a Roman Shower.
Exhibitionism - Exposing in public of one's sexual body areas to another which are traditionally expected to be covered. Usually done in a provocative manner for the purpose of attracting attention.
Flatuphilia - Sexual stimulation or arousal from flatulence or farts.
Gregomulcia - Sexual arousal or stimulation derived from being fondled in a crowd.
Hyperphilia - Simply, a compulsive desire for sex.
Iantronudia - Being aroused by exposing oneself to a physician.
Klismaphilia - Sexual arousal and/or stimulation from enemas.
Lactaphilia - Sexual attraction to and stimulation from lactating breasts.
Masochism - Sexual pleasure or gratification derived from physical pain and humiliation. Can be administered or delivered by another person or by oneself.
Necrophilia - Sexual attraction to the dead.
Normophilia - Sexual activity which falls within the normally accepted practices of the participants culture or society.
Ochlophilia- Being sexually aroused and stimulated by very large crowds of people.
Pictophilia - This is a form of sexual addiction characterized by the overuse of pornography. Overuse is commonly defined as involvement or attachment to pornography to such an extent that it has negative impact on your work, social or family life.
Retifism - Also known as Shoe Fetishism. The attachment of sexual desire, sexual preference or sexual attractiveness to shoes or footwear. This is one of the most prevalent fetishes worldwide.
Robot Fetishism - Oh boy, this is also known as "technosexuality" or ASFR is a sexual attraction to robots, or people dressed as robots.
Scopophilia - Similar to voyeurism. Sexual pleasure attained by looking at unclothed or partially clothed persons or representations of persons such as photographs or video.
Somnophilia - AKA the Sleeping Beauty Syndrome. Sexual arousal and/or sexual satisfaction are achieved by intruding on and awakening a sleeping person with erotic kisses and caresses which do not include force or violence. It may also refer to engaging in sex with a sleeping person.
Thesauromania - Being turned on by collecting various articles of women's clothing, most especially women's undergarments.
Urolagnia - Sexual stimulation derived from urine, or urination. The act of urinating on another person is called "Golden Showers" "Piss Play" or "Watersports". Manifestation of this fetish may also include playing with urine, urinating in/through clothing, watching someone urinate, drinking urine or sniffing urine-soaked garments. Although usually considered harmless, drinking urine can transfer many viruses, diseases, or infections from one party to another.
Vincilagnia - Arousal and/or stimulation by the act of bondage or the rendering of a person helpless by means of rope, chain, tape, tethers, cuffs etc.
Voyeurism - Sexual arousal and stimulation is achieved by observing people during intimate or private activities without their consent.
Ximelolagnia - A strong desire or urge to stare at women sitting with their legs crossed
Zelophilia - Sexual arousal from jealousy.
Zoophilia - Also known as bestiality. The act and desire to engage in sexual activities with animals.
